Day 5 and 6

Unfortanutely, I haven't played much at all the last two days. During the school week, it's very difficult for me to get "good" sessions in. They're always flaky sessions. I like playing 2 hour sessions minimum because it gets me in a rythem. Also, at my college we are on qaurters. Our last day of classes are this Friday. Then I have exams from Monday - Thursday the following week... ughh. So, playing time will be limited. However, I'll still manage to play some. But obviously it's not worth forcing.

P.S. Thanks to the guy leaving comments. I appreciate it, and yes I am noticing them. I just have no way of responding to them for some reason. Good Luck to you.

You just found a way to respond.

Don't force the poker if you have to study. I have been there and know studing takes alot of time and energy. So does work, that is why I am trying to only play on the weekends.

I would be ahead of schedule if I just racked up and left the table.

Goodluck

My buddy came into town this week and we went out to the local Casino in Carson City for dinner. We always go to Duke's Steak house because the food and service is excellent, although pricey. I knew we would hit the BJ tables afterward because that is his game of choice and there is no poker to speak of on a Thur. night there.

I grab my $400 profit from the weekend and kiss it goodbye as I head out the door.

As expected dinner was great. We got stuffed on Filet Minion and Lobster tail. Add a couple glasses of wine and dinner was more then $100 a head.

Off the the BJ tables. I got a book on card counting that I have skimmed and read pages hear and there so I have been practicing my counting. We get to the tables and I go slow. The count turns so I raise my bets. Down $100 in a few hands.

Pull out another $100 and start over. The table drops to just three of us that know what we are doing. I continue to loose when I make a steam bet and win. Then I calm down and get into a groove. I bet 5,5,5,5, then $50 as the count improves. I get my money back and then some. I bet 75 and hit blackjack twice in a short time. I go back to my $50 and loose two hands in a row. Quick $100. I look at my friend and say time to go.

I cash out and walk out with $600 in my pocket. So with dinner and early losses I score $200 profit. I am starting to warm up to BJ.

Goodluck on your exams.

3/14/07 To keep it short.

Went to the Grand Sierra and played 10/20. Got there around 6:30pm and had to leave at 10pm. (work in the morning) Didn't have any big hands to speak of, just grinding it out slowly.

Was up $200 when I had the idea to leave. It was 20 till 10pm so I thought I would just stick to my time frame.

Of course I got involved in a big hand 5 min later. I had a strong flush draw that I just couldn't lay down. Lost 180 of profit. Play 3 more hands to win a small pot and left with $87.00 in profit.

If I would have just left when I first thought of it. Dam. I did stick to my time frame which is an improvement, but I need to start to listen to my gut feelings more.

Just sucks going from $50 hr to $20 hr in one hand that I should have folded.
